RF/IF Record and Playback System (SCL-RPS)

RF/IF Record and Playback System has been designed using cutting edge technologies based on well proven Software Defined Radio (SDR) to record the analog signal with up to 40MHz instantaneous bandwidth. The bandwidth of the recording can be reduced by the built-in digital tuner to increase the storage capacity. The backup of the recorded signal can be taken on DVD storage for archiving. The recorded signal is also available on Ethernet interface for further processing and Matlab interface is also provided for offline processing.

The key components of the system are the high-speed, wide-band analog to digital and digital to analog converters and a high-capacity RAID subsystem based on a high-throughput PCI-X interface. The bandwidth of this digital interface provides enough capacity to implement the continuous record and playback capability of the 160Mb/sec bit stream.
